The 22 year old Godfrey Morgan lives with his uncle Kolderup and his godfather Phina, whom he wants to marry. But before that he wants to go on a trip around the world. His uncle sends him aboard the steamboat „Dream“, accompanied by Godfrey’s teacher Artelett.

After some time at sea the ship sinks and Godfrey can save himself on an island where he has to fight for his survival, always driven by the desire to see Phina again.
