In this work, presumably the first one in German to deal with the popular Enlightenment, the Swiss pastor imparts knowledge of the incipient research on natural science to his fellow countrymen, and in doing so refers to Wolff. His work also shows the rural population‹s resistance to the new methods of arable farming. The volume concludes with a breviary compiled from the rural population‹s most popular religious works.
