Maureen Kägi’s spectrum ranges from drawings, painterly process-based works and even installations and performances. Characteristic of these works with oil paints, Fineliner, ball-point and graphite are the reduced creative approach and the repetition of individual image elements, surfaces or lines placed next to or over each other, undermining any unequivocal figure/background relationship. The publication presents a broad overview of works from recent years forges any number of cross-links. The works of Maureen Kägi enter into a dialog with the texts by author Marie-Alice Schultz. In her political commentaries and calls for actions, she questions existing states of affairs and in part comments on them most poetically.
