A selection of the best works of Chema Madoz accompanying an exhibition to be shown in La Pedrera (Barcelona) in the month of April 2013. Chema Madoz, Spanish National Photography Prize in 2000, is one of the leading names in contemporary Spanish photography. In his work, near visual poetry, he shows a constant approach to symbolism, with images characterized by a subtle play of paradoxes and metaphors that create a world of their own, imaginative and thoughtful. Through their creations, often imbued with a delicate irony, Madoz questions reality and invites the viewer to observation and reflection, to discover the hidden poetry in the most common objects, subjecting them to subtle changes and altering their function, context and common uses. The exhibition and book „Chema Madoz. Ars combinatoria „, curated by Oliva Maria Rubio summarizes Madoz’s path since the late eighties to the present.
