The Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon (AKL) presents in each volume around 1.000 biographies of artists from all over the globe and throughout the ages from antiquity to the present. In contains not only painters, sculptors, and graphic designers but gives equal weight to architects, desginers, photographers, video and performance artists.
