Aziz + Cucher: Some People presents four newly commissioned video installations by the collaborative team of Anthony Aziz (* 1961) and Sammy Cucher (*1958) that reflect the artists‘ complex relationship with the political conflict in the Middle East. The exhibition is documented within the publication and is contextualized by Lisa D. Freiman in relation to their overall body of work and major developments in new media. As an independent curator working in Israel who is intimately familiar with the conflict in the Middle East, Tami Katz-Freiman explores their work within the context of political art. Richard Meyer focuses on queer art and cultural life of San Francisco in the late 1980s and early 1990s in a question and answer session with the artists.
