Bound is a collaboration between Scottish
artist Christina McBride and Mexican
author Roberto Bravo. The result of
their travels together through Patagonia
is both a travelogue and a reflection on
travel itself. With his report, Bravo follows
in the footsteps of famous literary
predecessors such as Bruce Chatwin and
Pablo Neruda; McBride, for her part, explores
the interplay between travel and
photography as a method of unsettling
conventional perceptions and expectations.
Our look at the extremes of Patagonia’s
landscapes is caught up in the
dynamics of visual aporetic states which
make what we see appear contradictory
and ultimately turn the journey into
a search for the possibilities afforded by
photography itself.
