The main thesis of this book is that to function effectively, a theory of intentionality must introduce specific mind-dependent entities that have emerged in the history of philosophy under the designation of „intentional objects“ and can be found, for example, in Brentano and Ingarden. All competing theories have certain systematic difficulties, which can be easily overcome in the context of the theory of intentional objects.
