The ›Naturrecht Feyerabend‹ (Natural Law Feyerabend) is Kant’s only lecture on natural law which is still available today. He held it during the summer semester of 1784, at the same time as he was working on his ›Grundlegung zur Metaphysik der Sitten‹ (Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals). This is why the key thoughts from the ›Groundwork‹ recur in the long introduction to this lecture. This introduction at times almost reads like a separate commentary on the published work. (A separate list of parallel passages which is included in the index shows individual examples of this). This is also the reason why the introduction to the lecture is reprinted separately in the first volume of this set and is analyzed lexically. The reprint of the ›Naturrecht Feyerabend‹ in Volume 27 of the Academy edition however contains so many typographical errors which distort the meaning that these errors can no longer be corrected here by providing lists of typographical errors. This is why for the first time the index contains a new critical edition of the entire text (along with the apparatus of variants missing in the Academy edition). The ›Naturrecht Feyerabend‹ is being published for the first time in a reliable text edition.
