The ‹Neues Organon‹ (New Organon) and the ‹Architectonic‹ are Lambert‹s two main philosophical works. They are among the most influential works of the 18th century and are also an important link between Wolff and Kant, who wanted to write his own phenomenology in 1770 based on the ‹Neue Organon‹ instead of the ‹Critique of Pure Reason‹. The influence exerted by Lambert‹s ‹Architectonic‹ and its conception on Kant was just as strong. It pursues the issues raised in Wolff‹s ontology and at the same time puts them in a more comprehensive context. The indexes contribute to making Lambert‹s philosophy more accessible and to enabling an exact examination of its influence. The main index begins with the entire vocabulary and in addition several extra indexes. Apart from an index of persons, these include an index of Latin vocabulary, an important supplement in view of the lack of lexicons for the Latin used in the 18th century.
