Prospects for World Society

von

Two and a half decades after the end of the Cold War, the contours of a multipolar world order are emerging. Trade and financial markets can no longer be stabilized without a key role for rising powers such as China, India and Brazil. Joint efforts must be made in the United Nations to combat global poverty and inequality and set a new course towards sustainability. At the same time, conflict and suffering in Ukraine and Syria and roadblocks in the climate negotiations show that a logic of confrontation and escalation leads nowhere.
Global Trends 2015 analyzes these developments and longer-term trends, based on a wealth of statistical data, reports and new research findings.
