Herbert Albrecht was born 1919 in Kassel. After serving in the german army in World War II and three years at Munich University, he emigrated to Canada. In this book we follow the New-Canadian on his way west: from Halifax to Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. He covered nearly 8000 miles, 6 time-zones, had quite a number of different jobs, learned about the beautiful landscape of his new home-country and a lot about its people. 1957 he was naturalized, one out of 3.5 million post-war immigrants who are now fully integrated part of the Canadian nation.
