The title of the book is not some quick remark from Edith Erbrich. Those who know Edith are well aware of it.
Her eventful life, that took her through difficult times, did not bring her to the point where she had forgotten how to laugh.
The opposite is the case. Whilst her childhood was shaped from exclusion and the deportation, she knows how to cherish and enjoy the beautiful and special moments in life.
And, she is well aware of her responsibilities, ever present in schools to tell our young pupils where exclusion, racism and hate can lead to. Edith does this, so that no none has to go through anything so dreadful again. So that nobody has to suffer in the same way as Edith and many others did. Many died.
This book tells Edith‘s story. We have taken it from her viewpoint, that of a small girl.
