Alexander von Aphrodisias (around 200 AD) not only wrote about the book ‹De anima‹ but also about many of Aristotle‹s works on natural science and about all of his writings on logic. Toward the end of the 15th century, the humanists pointed out the significance of the Greek exegete for understanding Aristotelian logic. Thus all of Alexander‹s commentaries on Aristotelian logic were translated into Latin around the middle of the 16th century. This commentary on topics and sophistry was translated into Latin by the well known translator Dorotheus.
