Manifold options have originated from the scientific-technological progress to subject animate nature to human purposes on a large scale. These developments give occasion to examine the fundamental man-nature-relationship. For the purpose of a clarification of this relationship in philosophical ethics, the present study combines reflections on nature ethics with deliberations on recognition theory.
