Lectures
Build two or three sentences (not more!) with the following terms: Romantic Feeling, Soldier, Rak’ah and: “My Father Hit Me”
Every artwork is made by a range of fragments. The question of how important an artwork (or design) is and with it how valuable, is answered by the variety of its correlative connectivity. Like any other natural or artificial thing a work of art or design could also not stand for itself. An artwork (or design) has to be realized in relation to the previous works and if this is be done with the knowledge that it could only be done with the artist’s full concentration on his subjective range of relations, the finished work will have its impact to future work.
At the beginning of studying art or design it is not easy to understand how the fragments should be build, to recognize the quality of a self-builded fragment, to choose which of the realized fragments are usable, to understand how the fragment has to be set in a correlation and to reflect how with the fragments and there correlations the formal and narrative tension of a composition is given.
In my lectures I strive to explain and I do it in a very practical way, therefore I think for every prospective artist or designer (and also those who already are) it could be very helpful to join my lessons during the semester at the Academy of Visual Arts, Frankfurt or by buying this magazine.
