This current book focuses on the relevance and mutual influences between painting and photography in our appreciation of the landscape. Similar to the extant catalogue of paintings, this publication centres on a selection of one hundred photographs from the collection at the Stadtmuseum in Munich. It presents a concise overview of the key areas in nineteenth-century landscape photography and its function as a study model for the painting of the time.
