“Auftritt Schweiz” (Switzerland on stage) is this year’s otto for the book fair in Leipzig. For this reason, the designer Moritz Schmid from Zurich developed benches for readers in the public space which will remain in parks and squares after the fair. What else is happening in our neighbouring country, what roles do product design, graphic and typography play? Switzerland, the “land of design”, is our main topic in the next issue. Also, we talk to Nicolette Naumann, head of the consumer goods trade fairs of Messe Frankfurt. In Discourse, Annika Frye will concern herself with the question of what meaning improvisation has for the design process.
