No. 265 Designing Time

Ever since man began measuring time, it has determined the pace of life in hours, minutes, and seconds. Clocks are an object of design, a form of visualising time. Moreover, our reaction to and perception of time is formed by timepieces and other, digital products and processes. In our forthcoming issue, we will be looking not only at temporary phenomena that can be influenced, such as waiting, but also investigate the role of time in the creative process and the criteria that make up so-called timeless design. In addition, in our next issue, we will be reporting on the 50th anniversary of the Valentina comics created by Guido Crepax, and investigate the ageing process of materials in the material section.
