The epitome of expressive figural painting

If Berliners have heard of Rainer Fetting (b. Wilhelmshaven, 1949; lives and works in Berlin and Sylt), it is probably for his larger-than-life bronze statue of Willy Brandt at the Social Democratic Party’s headquarters. But Fetting is actually best known for his work as a painter. This year will bring the first show at his New York gallery Albertz Benda after a hiatus of more than three decades. The book presents paintings created between the 1990s and today, with a focus on works from New York, Florida beaches and seascapes, and views from the island of Sylt. With an essay by Boris Pofalla.
