Erdmann‹s individual edition of the reflections was a pioneering achievement. It has only been partially superseded by the complete edition of the Kant’schen literary estate, which Adickes and his successors have undertaken as part of the Academy edition. This arrangement of the reflections, which is done according to subjects and in which the systematic contexts are much more accessible than they are in Adickes‹ chronological order of the ideas, and the immense amount of literature on Kant during his time dealt with by Erdmann in the annotations, make this edition an almost indispensable aid for the study of Kant.
