A remarkable love story in Medieval Ratisbon
Sophia, brought up in a well-respected merchant family in Ratisbon, happens to meet Maximilian, a young mason, at the market. Although she is supposed to marry the rich Tassilo, she hopelessly falls in love with the mason. Gisela, her best friend, is the only person she can trust. Together, they try hard to fi nd a way to overcome all social barriers, before a bold theft and a nocturnal observation give them new hope. But will it be enough to make Sophia’s dream come true?
Two years have passed since form 7c of Private Realschule Pindl wrote the German novel “Sophia und der Steinmetz”. Now, being in year nine, the pupils took the next step and translated their own book into English.
