She is ambitious at work, but actually rather shy and well-behaved. When the young Faith tries to cross the tracks at the train station one evening, as she does every evening after work, something very strange happens: A deep, seemingly endless hole opens up in front of her in the middle of the street. Apparently only she can see it. When she tries to run around it, Faith is drawn in … and the young woman suddenly ends up in a completely bizarre, alien world that exists underground.
