Chandra Kurt is Switzerland’s best-known wine publisher. She has published more than twenty books (including Weinseller, Wine Tales, Das Weinhandbuch, Von Humagne Rouge bis Heida). In 2015, she launched her wine magazine “Weinseller Journal”. She travels the world as a wine consultant and was the winner of the 2006 Sécateur d’Or prize. In 2016, she became Commandeur de l’Ordre des Vins Vaudois.
Under the label “Collection Chandra Kurt”, she created a collection of wines from ancient grape varieties native to canton Valais in collaboration with Provins, and a collection of different chasselas from different soils in collaboration with Maison Bolle et Cie.
Starting in 2012, she began working with world-renowned photographer Patricia von Ah. This collaboration resulted in a number of short feature films and photographs. A series of images from the project appear in this book.
Chandra Kurt was born in 1968 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where her parents were studying the lives of Asian elephants under a mandate from the Smithsonian Institution. Chandra spent her childhood in Asia. She now lives in Zurich, Switzerland.
